Just A Scrappin's DT Challenge

Who doesn’t love a great challenge?  Well, this Queen B does!!   Just A Scrappin’s challenge for this week is “Weddings.”  The challenge is to make a card, layout or project using any colors we wanted.

What does every couple want as a gift on their wedding day?  It’s money, of course!
If you are like me and feel like it is a little impersonal to put a check in a Hallmark card and drop it in the box at the reception site, I have the perfect solution.

Give them what they really want, which is the honeymoon cash, but make it FABULOUS by personalizing it!  Below is an example of a personalized wedding card which is guaranteed to make the mantle =)

This was for a military wedding taking place on a naval base.  Notice the details:  the stripes on the uniform, the paper dolls made to resemble the bride and groom, the name of the ship.  These are the details that will let the newlyweds know that this gift of cash took a lot of time and thought!!

For this week’s challenge, here is my card…

This card is 5.5 x 8.5.
All paper is Recollections cardstock that I bought at Michaels.
The bride and groom are cut at 2 inches and I used the Paper Doll Dress Up cartridge.
I used silver stickles (from Studio G) to outline some of the bride’s dress

I love Stickles!!
I picked an outfit from the cartridge but I added a touch of gold using a gold Gelly Roll gel pen for stripes and buttons on the Navy outfit to resemble my sailor!

The ship is also from Paper Doll Dress Up cut at 6 inches.  I bling’d the
holes in the ship with light green blings from Studio 18.
I also put a little design at the bottom of the ship using the Cindy Loo cartridge at 1 inch.
The trimming on the ship and the flag were done using the Gelly Roll gel pens and
I made my own flag just cutting out scraps of paper.
The water was cut from Paper Doll Dress Up at 2 inches.  I embossed it using my Cuttlebug and the folder was D’vine Swirls.
The sun was from Gypsy Wanderings and cut at 1.5”.
The Congrats was cut from Cindy Loo at 1.25 inches.

Well, that's it from this Queen B for this challenge!

... and that's the buzz for now!
